Today found us exploring Damon Point. We walked along with our eyes focused on the myriad of rocks, pebbles, boulders, and tiny bits placed there by the constant wave action. Last week, a new trench had been dug out exposing a layer of pebbles a foot high. Today, the trench is filled in and the boulders arranged in yet another of natures's random patterns.
I discovered a section of the missing road that wasn't in this spot last week, along with an old iron tub unearthed from who knows how long ago.
These tiny creatures attracted my attention as they have effectively glued themselves to the boulders to be part of the miniature tidal ecosystem. I'm no expert, though here we have limpets in their Chinaman hat design, barnacles, and small muscles.
My companion, Chana, was drawn to the water swirling among the rocks that called to her to climb.
I came home with a satisfying collection of tiny treasures (like I don't already have several containers of similar items adorning corners of my apartment).
