Last Day of January Beach Experience

A few shots of the day's views

Pretty sure these are female ring-necked ducks (as they have a
distinctive ring on their beaks but none on their necks that I can see...)

As I walked towards the beach at North Jetty, the bitterly cold wind took my breath away reminding me that it was still January, not April like last weekend.

The North Jetty area has quite lot of new flotsam and jetsam from Winter storms.

I didn't stay long and soon headed to the more protected Damon Point area on the harbor side.

Spied this mallard as I walked the Audubon trail near Damon Point

These leftover pilings are buried deeper than they were a few weeks ago...

Large chunks of what looks like sea grass sodlike chunks were scattered along the shore on the harbor side of the jetty

Photo of the day for me! This little guy was all alone on the beach trying to get to that clam. He did not like my presence to be sure.

And, of course, I had to take a splashy photo!
