Thank You!

As today is Memorial Day, I thought I'd honor those in my family that have served in the military.  I am grateful to them as I am to all those who have sacrificed for our country.

First off, is my dad - isn't he handsome in his uniform?  I remember he didn't like to talk about his experiences during World War II.  I suspect he saw things he'd rather forget. The most I knew was that he was in the Intelligence branch of the Army Air Corp.  Later, he worked for Pinkerton's Detective Agency for a short while.  I find that fascinating.

Then, there's my husband, Larry.  He served for six years in the Navy leaving just before we got married back in '83.  He spent time in Cuba and California mostly.

And, there's my brother, Hugh, commonly known as Sam.  He served for two years in the Air  Force during Vietnam fixing  airplanes.  Wish I had the photo of him in uniform.

I learned recently that my great grandfather, Andrew N. Samson, served as a private in the US Army during the Civil War.  Wish I had a pic of him, too!
