So, I finally got all my pics uploaded and sorted - that took a while. I can see it in my mind's eye - all those miles of road through high plains, mountains, along rivers, seeing antelope (the kids fondly dubbed them 'cantelope'), stopping in museums, old towns, rolling fields, stopping for a letterbox or two, meeting with friends met on the last trip, getting a feel for the states as we stopped to eat and find our hotels.
Let's see, this part takes us through Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, Kansas, and Missouri.
We got into our routine of up early, load the van, eat our continental breakfast, drive awhile (I navigated, Liz drove), stop to take pics, see a cool site, drive more, talk, listen to books, talk some more, find our hotel, relax a little, sleep in a nice hotel room, then start over! Oh, yeah, I guess we stopped for meals, too!
Every day seeing new things, being in a different place, comparing how folks do things there to how we do it at home. You'd think that wouldn't be the case in our own country - fascinating!
