Home Again...

Yeah, I'm just a little tired after 30 days on the road. We traveled almost 9000 miles cramming in a lot of living! I have so many awesome memories flooding my mind tonight as I sit at home sorting through my 2000+ pics, catching up on laundry, and getting myself settled into my old routines once again. Well, maybe not quite the same as before.

I find that every time I travel, especially these lovely extended trips, I come back different from when I started. New experiences and sites, time spent in the car with the kids and my best bud... I feel so immensely blessed to have had the privilege of such a trip! I can't even begin to fit it all into one post, so I'll start out with just a few bullets of randomness:

~all kinds of weather - snow, rain, hail, warm humidity, dry desert heat (lovely), cool ocean breezes, powerful winds, cold damp humidity (yeah, that's home).

~ all kinds of terrain - high plateaus, mountains, bayous, flat farm lands, rolling hills, steamy swamps, hot beaches, desert, plains, forests of all kinds, cool rocky beaches, river banks

~ wildlife - lizards, snakes, fireflies, antelope, deer, alligators, fish, coyotes, foxes, ravens, crows, bluebirds, finches, vultures, hawks, gynormous grasshoppers, roadrunners, prairie dogs, squirrels (that's not including the zoos and aquariums)

~ vegetation - fir trees, sequoias, cedars, redwoods, palm trees, prickly pear, Joshua trees, cholla, saguaro, wildflowers, mimosa, magnolia, gardenia, seaweed, kelp

~ lots of museums, a few road side attractions, national parks, lighthouses, a Spanish mission, ancient ruins, historic sites, a few letterboxes, meeting with friends (old and new), old cemetaries, guided tours, unguided exploration

~ emotional ups and downs and persevering through them, not allowing them to spoil our time together

~ lots of laughter at ourselves and things that were just too funny to see like the guy filling up his riding mower at the gas station and the waitress that said Tay was 'sweaty' (she was saying 'sweetie' in her lovely Southern accent)

Now it's time to reflect and remember it all - you can bet more is coming especially when I get those pics all organized!

Thanks, Lisa! What a full plate!

I'm looking forward to the pics. Popcorn to go along with it might be in order. Soundtrack, too.

What a blessing to know that the Lord showed such mercy in His protection as you traveled!

We were truly blessed to be able to make such a journey, both physically and spiritually. I'm so fortunate to have you as a friend...one who wants to travel with me (in my own quirky way). Thank you, my dear, dear friend. I love you. :-)
