As we headed north, leaving California behind (thankfully), we had to drive through the Redwoods, naturally... just enough time to capture the resident elk heard, find one of the little touristy ranger stations, watch the waves while the sun actually shone, and feel very small amongst the giant trees.
Yay! We made it to Oregon! Our digs were on historic Bay Street with its mishmash of tourist shops, galleries, working fisheries (the tuna was in), and, of course, the Original Mo's. Liz and I thought their fish tacos were the bomb! Tay and Chuck sure enjoyed traditional fish-n-chips.
Tay and I wandered down the street one evening in search of dinner and those necessary things we just had to buy with our travel dollars. We found an awesome little hole-in-the-wall wood-fired pizza place that served us up amazingly fast as well as the dozens of seals draped around the jetty that we'd been hearing from our room a quarter mile away - their voices are so melodic, you know.
