He Has Brought Us to This Season...

Baruch atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech haolam, shehechehyanu, v'kiy'manu, v'higianu laz'man hazeh.
Our praise to You, Eternal our God, Sovereign of all: for giving us life, sustaining us, and enabling us to reach this season.

Baruch atah Adonai,
Eloheinu Melech haolam, asher kid'shanu b'mitzvotav v'tzivanu leisheiv basukkah.

Our praise to You, Eternal our God, Sovereign of all: You hallow us with Your mitzvot and command us to dwell in the sukkah.

The Most High G-d has brought us to this season of Sukkot.  I am so very grateful for all that He has brought us through in this last year of the festival cycle.   Wow... a full year now.  The journey has had so many twists and turns that I can't even begin to put down in writing all the swirling memories in my heart and mind.   I can say with assurance, though, that we're in a new season with much change ahead, new memories to make, new and renewed relationships to foster, many opportunities to serve.

I see a swirl of memories, old swirling into new.  All to add to this journey we call life - this walk of faith that presents unexpected turns with every step I take.  The heartache is still there, receding and coming to the front again as I trek along.  Three steps forward, two steps back... may every step bring glory to the Master and keep my focus where it belongs - in the present, with wisdom learned from the past to be applied in the future.

We are commanded to rejoice - let it begin!  May His Name be praised - Chag Sameach!
